I arrived for a new system warranty call. I spoke with the homeowner and found that the outdoor system shut off before the indoor blower motor will. I explained that that is normal and it’s nothing to worry about. The main issue the homeowner is concerned about is that the outdoor system is making a loud noise when it shuts off. I inspected the system and checked the amps and refrigerant charge. I cycled the system off at the disconnect and the thermostat multiple times to see if I can get the outdoor system to make the same noise. I had the homeowner with me to see if I replicated the noise. Nothing I did to the system would make it make a any noise that was abnormal for this system.
