Arrived to call for AC not able to reach desired temperature. Upon inspection of the indoor unit I found the evaporator coil freezing over and the condensation drain pan to be clogged. The coil freezing is due to lack of air flow over it. I checked the blower motor finding it to be drawing higher than designed amperage and is beginning to fail. This issue has been going on for quite some time as the entirety of the system has become rusted and filled with water. This includes the heat exchanger for the furnace which was filled with rust and pitting. Also the burners were in the same condition. With the amount of water damage to this unit there are multiple failures on the horizon for the heating side as well. On the outdoor unit the system needed refrigerant but with this old of a system the refrigerant it uses is no longer produced and I no longer keep this on my van due to the extreme price.
