Upon arrival I spoke with the customer stated a power surge happened the other day, tripped breaker, no ac since. I called for cooling, breaker is on and not tripping. I found hard start reading 0.0mfd. I replace capacitor and hard start and the compressor still failed to start. No charge for parts, used as a diagnostic. I explained compressor has failed & explained repair/ replacement options.

I completed diagnostics and found the filter plugged. I removed but there was not another filter on site. A 16x25x1 was pulled out of the blower compartment. I recommend a 16x25x4 to add into the filter cabinet. I noticed urine on unit. This can eat away at the coil causing issues and leaking of refrigerant. The system is estimated 3 pounds low on r22 refrigerant. Based on age (18 years old), cost of seen and unseen repairs, having the outdated refrigerant, condition, lack of efficiency and not having a warranty I recommend replacement of AC. I quoted replacement. The homeowners purchased new AC, paid in full. 137341
Upon arrival the customer stated the system will run for about ten minutes and shut off. A/c has not ran in over a year. I called for cooling and the condenser contactor is not pulling in per the system is low on R-22. I explained repair/ replacement options with customer. The customer needs time to decide decision and will call back.
