Upon arrival I completed a Full Install of a Carrier 96% Gas Furnace 59SC5 (Up to 100,000 BTU) Honeywell T6 Programmable Thermostat/Emerson 1F85U Carrier 16 SEER Air Conditioner 24ABC6 (Up to 3 ton) The system is operational upon departure.
Upon arrival I spoke with the customer stated a power surge happened the other day, tripped breaker, no ac since. I called for cooling, breaker is on and not tripping. I found hard start reading 0.0mfd. I replace capacitor and hard start and the compressor still failed to start. No charge for parts, used as a diagnostic. I explained compressor has failed & explained repair/ replacement options.

I completed diagnostics and found the filter plugged. I removed but there was not another filter on site. A 16x25x1 was pulled out of the blower compartment. I recommend a 16x25x4 to add into the filter cabinet. I noticed urine on unit. This can eat away at the coil causing issues and leaking of refrigerant. The system is estimated 3 pounds low on r22 refrigerant. Based on age (18 years old), cost of seen and unseen repairs, having the outdated refrigerant, condition, lack of efficiency and not having a warranty I recommend replacement of AC. I quoted replacement. The homeowners purchased new AC, paid in full. 137341
Upon arrival the customer stated the system will run for about ten minutes and shut off. A/c has not ran in over a year. I called for cooling and the condenser contactor is not pulling in per the system is low on R-22. I explained repair/ replacement options with customer. The customer needs time to decide decision and will call back.
I completed the diagnostics and found the condenser fan motor not running. I discovered the capacitor failed. I explained repair/ replace options and the customer opted to replace. I replaced the cap and charged for it today for cooling until install. I also discounted price of part off of install. The system is operational upon departure.
I gave the customer an estimate to run / replace pvc line and leak.
I installed a Five Star 13 SEER 2 Ton Air Conditioner/Carrier 96% 40,000 BTU Gas Furnace; They didn't need a thermostat. This system was operational at the time of departure. With this install comes a scheduled maintenance agreement lasting a year.
I replaced the pressure switch. I cycled the system to ensure functionality. System is operational upon departure.
Upon inspection, I found the flame sensor was dirty and did not have a secure connection. I cleaned it and reattached the part so that it had a secure connection. I cycled the system multiple times to ensure everything was working. System is operational upon departure.
I replaced the inducer motor and found the ignitor needs replaced as well. I quoted the part to the customer and will wait for them to touch base with us to order. System is not operational upon departure.
I found the inducer motor had seized. Customer has approved replacement and I will come back out to install once part comes in.
