During my inspection the customer greeted me at the door and proceeded to tell me the system was off completely by the breaker. After cutting those on the customer explained to me the air coming out of the vents in the attic was contaminated with black specs. She was worried about a fire hazard. She also explained that there was no cold air coming out of the system. Upon further inspection of the system I found that the indoor unit was extremely dirty and the blower wheel was extremely impacted by dust, dirt, debris. As well as the indoor coil. This was causing the black flakes that were coming out of the system. The amp drawls for the indoor blower motor or within spec at .52 A. I then made my way to the outdoor unit where I started by checking power coming into the unit. I did have 240 V. When the unit went to start up I noticed that the compressor was short cycling. I’ve been checked the capacitor and found that the 35/3 UF capacitor was low only reading 28/2.9. I then opened u

The heat pump is not running. I found the 45/5 run capacitor bad. The standing refrigerant pressures are a little low. I completed a complimentary refrigerant leak search on the system. I found leaks in the condenser coil and evaporator coil. I called the manager on duty per company policy for a verification visit. Rick is on his way to the customers house. I called trane for parts availability and pricing. The condenser coil is obsolete and not available anymore. The compressor Megohmmed green (good). Rick arrived and is going over options with the customer.
