Job Checkin

Upon arrival technician found that the system was not currently powered on the condenser. Upon further investigation the technician found that the breaker had tripped. Technician reset the breaker and unit came on and began working properly. The technician measured the amperage on the motor and the compressor. The motor is reading 1.24 A out of a rated 1.47 amps. The compressor was reading 20 A out of 25. The breaker is rated 35 A. The technician believes that the fan motor may be going out which is causing the compressor to overheat and tripped the breaker. Considering the age of the system and the fact that it still has our 22 refrigerant, technician would recommend instead of spending thousands to repair the system, replace the system for low monthly payment. The system is working properly at this time but it’s pulling high amps. The customer decided since this was a one off thing to wait on any repairs or replacement options.
