I completed the scheduled maintenance agreement cooling tune up on a Carrier air conditioner. I visually inspected the unit. Checked voltages, amps and pressures. I inspected the evaporator coil. I checked the temperature difference across the coil. Inspected heat pump. Checked refrigerant charge, voltages and amps. I rinsed the condenser coils with water. Cycled and monitored system. All operating normally at this time.
I performed a diagnostic on clients air conditioner that was not cooling their home properly. Found capacitor blown. Found filter clean. Cleaned coil. Found system low on refrigerant, added 1/2lb. Suction pressure is 65 liquid is 249. Superheat is 6. Compressor is not pump refrigerant properly and customer is aware. No warranty on refrigerant.

I arrived to do a scheduled maintenance agreement on a American standard gas furnace Technician arrived and completed tune up checklist for safety issues, combustion, and efficiency. Found the furnace was tripping in high limit at 138 degrees when the rating in the hi limit switch is factory set for 180 degrees. Diagnosed bad high limit switch, needs replaced or furnace will be short cycling and shutting off after only a few minutes of running then restart. Customer would like to hold off on the repair at this time
