Great techician!

Yonus was excellent, trying for almost 2 hours to fix our furnace problem on a Sunday evening. However, we’re disappointed with our new Amana furnace which appears to have significant issues. Hopefully, these issues can be repaired with a second visit.

Customer only having an issue with the new installation. After extensive diagnostics I found that a roof cap on the exterior of the building had fallen against the flue pipe. I went on the roof and raised it up and tightened the clamp. These concentric caps are not the right ones and Installation manager to follow up with the customer regarding replacing both of these caps to the correct cone style cap. However the unit is operating normal at this time. I left it running on high stage heat while I began packing up my tools and there are no more pressure faults. I also spoke with the Installation manager to verify warranty status for this call. This is technically not related to the installation of the equipment but I was given the okay to warranty the call as a courtesy for some of the other installation issues.

I replaced the gas valve and used the red springs. I removed the jumper wire from w1 and w2 and cycled the furnace. Unit operating normal.

Technician has to have the springs that come in the lp conversion kit. Both high and low will not back out of the existing valve to reuse those springs. Unit is heating in high fire and I couldn’t risk damaging the existing valve trying to remove the pressure adjustment screws. I called Colin and he confirmed that unfortunately they are required to make the repairs.

Upon arrival I was told that both systems weren’t working properly. Kitchen unit was overheating per last technician. Found gas pressure way too high, 12.7inches w.c, regulated high stage down to 10inches w.c but couldn’t set low stage because set screw that holds spring in place on gas valve is stuck closed, cannot remove counterclockwise to set lower pressure. Gas valve needs to be replaced and we need to bring another LP kit just in case. Customer then explained that attic furnace was worked on before and now unit won’t heat unless door is off. Called office and didn’t get verification if we worked on unit. Found furnace will only run when intake door is off. Once door is mounted the flame goes out because of poor combustion airflow. Opened up panels to find crack in heat exchanger and rust seam all along the tubes. Spoke to customer about repairing or replacing system and they would like quote to replace.
