Upon arrival and started the tune up, the condenser wouldn’t turn on. I checked and found the system was low on refrigerant and the condenser is off from the pressure switch. The airhandler is located in the attic and the evaporator coil is frozen. I turned the system off and turned on the fan at the thermostat to thaw it out. We will have to come back in a few hours (about 12 noon) when the system is thawed out and perform a leak check. I informed the customer about what I found. They have been here for a year and the system was installed before they moved in. Returned and the system was thawed out. I performed a leak check and the evaporator coil is leaking (non repairable). System is under warranty and the evaporator coil needs to be replaced. Customer approved the work for tomorrow morning. Materials needed: evaporator coil, recovery machine, recovery tank, ply board for the attic and a fan (attic is very hot), 5 lbs of R410A Recovered what refrigerant was left in the system. R
