Super efficient Great Service

For the first time since moving to Florida I feel like I was given truthful, manageable solutions for my AC issue! I was able to see and understand exactly why my AC wasn’t blowing cold air, was given multiple different options for repairing and maintaining, as well as offered suggestions for a more efficient system in the future. I’m now confident, because of the annual membership I purchased, that the next year will be nice and cool. And if any problems arise I can count on this company to fix it up without giving me the run around.

Would not recommend Wade Hepp

Wade was very nice but was at our home for about 4 total hours to fix a floater switch and unclog our drain. He also washed his tools in our bathtub without asking permission or telling us he was doing that and left a dirty mess in our tub and bathroom. Not sure if he was new as he had to make several calls during his visit to our home, but wound not not want him to return for our AC needs.

Customer needed system to be recharged as he had another contractor doing some work and the contractor let the refrigerant out. I recharge the mini split system back up with 4 pounds of refrigerant. Additionally, he asked if I would also look at his Goodman split system in which I suggested the system also needed an additional 3 pounds of refrigerant. The customer agreed to allow me to recharge that system as well. Total charger, refrigerant for both system was 7 pounds.

Called out today due to no cooling. Upon arrival client stated that the system has not been cooling for two days. I checked refrigerant pressures. System is extremely low on R22 refrigerant. Client is fully aware that R22 is no longer manufactured. Explained to client about the process of finding a leak and the potential cost of repairs. Client is a general contractor and has friends that do HVAC. He is not interested in speaking with a comfort advisor but just wanted me to check refrigerant pressures. System is in the same condition as arrival. Thank you for always choosing Total Air

I returned to replace the thermostat wire throughout the entire system. System is now back up and running. I also recommended that the customer at another 2 pounds of refrigerant to the system as the data plate rating for subcoolcool is 10° and the current sub cooling was 8.4. The customer agreed and approved to move forward with that scope of work.

Membership maintenance. Performed full system inspection. Unable to flush drain line due to glued clean out. Checked all wiring. Blower wheel is heavily impacted with biological growth. Biological growth also found on evaporator coil/plastics and wiring to motor. Evaporator coil is eroding/rusting due to salt water in the air. Rust buildup beginning to clog drain pan. Condensing unit is also corroded/rusted. Took compressor and outdoor fan motor amp draw. Tested capacitor. Temperature split low 10°. Checked refrigerant pressures and temperatures. Major efficiency loss due to dirty fan and coil. Spoke to the customer about these recommendations for cleanings. Performed and clean on blower motor assembly. Evaporator coil. Vacuum drain line and clean out T. Installed pure air XUV light to prevent bio-growth from coming back.

04/24/24 - Upon arrival the float was tripped, not allowing the thermostat to come on. I’ve verified refrigerant pressures and refrigerant. Pressures are within specs. I ran the system for 20 minutes and it did not begin to ice up. I also verify the starting capacitor was within specs & it was reading 38/4mf. A clogged drain line with blockage (paper towels, see pics) was found. Evaporator coils have slight microbial growth development across the coils & the outdoor coils need a deep cleaning to remove blockage across the CU coils. Recommended signing up for our Air Care Membership which includes 2x system checks per year, 20% off quoted repairs, & priority calling. Also, replacing the outdated Air Scrubber bulb. Office, customer ordered eac pack. Photo of dimensions in ST. Notes: customer said unit has been running well. They will head north for summer and keep thermostat set at 79°. Membership is due for renewal (Senior) and customer will need replacement pack for EAC Filter. Summary: last visit replaced 1 UVC Bulb. Customer will hold off on replacing the other. Tested all electrical components, cleared drain line, and delta temp was within normal range of 18°. System is a 2011 cooling well at this time. I do suggest saving towards a new system so you’re ready when the time comes.
