Reason for todays visit was to restore power loss to exterior receptacles. Upon inspection I found that the exterior plugs as well as all the bathroom plugs were controlled by 2 separate GFCI’S. One was located in the garage and one in the powder room. The garage one was the master GFCI which controlled even the powder room GFCI. I also found that the exterior receptacles were original to home and severely rusted. We replaced all the devices on this circuit with GFCI’s so that they wouldn’t control each other. Now if water was to get into a plug it will only trip the plug at that location. We installed Weather resistant GFCI’s in all 3 exterior locations with new In-use covers. We installed new tamper resistant GFCI’s in all 4 bathrooms and rewired the newer GFCI in the garage. We also replaced the kitchen GFCI that was tripping properly as well as the wet bar GFCI in the basement. Once installed we tested all the GFCI’s and they are working properly.
