Customer is having issues with his 2nd floor bathroom exhaust fan not working properly. After troubleshooting issue I found that the timers that control the fans were not allowing proper voltage to the fans. I tied wires through (bypassing the timers) and the fans still didn’t work properly. I found that the motors in both fans were damaged and need to be replaced along with the timers that control them. I also found that the digital dimmers that controlled the lights in these 2 bathrooms were also damaged, they were only allowing around 100 volts to the lights when fully on. I determined they may have all been damaged at the same time. We found that the main panel did not have surge protection as well. We installed a new whole house surge protector in the main panel and left a quote to replace the bathroom fans on the 2nd floor and to replace the timers and the 2 dimmers.
