Today I reworked the existing pool equipment wiring to eliminate rusty, faulted, and seriously deteriorated wiring. I installed a new 20 amp disconnect, a new timer, reworked the spa switching out of the timer and into its own box. There was also a UF cable in the original disconnect that has been abandoned, that wiring is now in its own junction box also. When I tested the pool pump it did not run but hummed like it was trying to start. I recommend calling a pool technician to look at it.
