Ansul Detection Line & Nozzles Severely Clogged - UL300 & NFPA Code Deficiency (Failed Trip Test) (Non-Compliant) (Replacement Needed) During your most recent Fire Protection Inspection, our technicians discovered that the detection line and nozzles on the Ansul system have a severe grease buildup that is clogging each component and affecting operation. As a result, the Ansul system has failed the trip test and does not meet the requirements of ANSI/NFPA/UL300 and the manufacturer. NFPA 17A 10.4.4 The manual release function test is tested to the standard of the manufacturer during each inspection. NFPA 10.2.3* Automatic Fire-Extinguishing systems SHALL comply with ANSI/UL300 or other equivalent standards and SHALL be installed in accordance with the requirements of the listing. As of 2014, standards written by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and adopted by most states as a part of their fire code, require all kitchen systems must be UL 300-compliant. Ansul Fire Suppression System/Fire Extinguishers/Exit&Emergency Lights - Code Deficiencies (Replacement Needed) During the most recent Fire Protection Inspection, our technicians identified several deficiencies in the Ansul fire suppression system, fire extinguishers, and exit/emergency lighting. These issues must be addressed to ensure compliance with ANSI, NFPA, and UL 300 standards, as well as manufacturer specifications. Identified Deficiencies: Ansul Manual Pull Station: The pull station is severely corroded, stuck in place, and failed to operate during testing. Replacement is required. Ansul Cartridge: The existing Ansul 101-30 cartridge on the 9-gallon system is incorrect for the system size. It must be replaced with an Ansul double tank cartridge per manufacturer requirements. Ansul Nozzle and Swivel Replacement: One Ansul nozzle and two nozzle swivels need replacement to provide proper coverage for the appliance lineup.
