Today I worked on a garage floor painting project and ran into an issue with the epoxy not adhering properly in certain spots. After inspecting the surface, I realized there were areas with residual oil stains that weren’t fully removed during the initial cleaning. To fix the problem, I stopped the application, thoroughly degreased the floor using a commercial concrete cleaner, and then used a grinder to rough up the surface for better adhesion. Once the floor was fully prepped and dried, I reapplied the epoxy coating, which bonded smoothly. The floor now has a clean, durable finish, and the homeowner was very happy with the result.
