Technician Mike responded to a call concerning two hose spigots on a home. Allen said they rented the house out for years, now they are moving in and want them both replaced for peace of mind and stability. The hose spigot for the side of the house is located through an access panel in the ceiling. The existing spigot is not secure to the side of the home. You can take it and move it in and out. The hose spigot for the front of the house does not have access to it. The ceiling will need cut open above the flat screen television to gain access to it. The visible water line for this hose spigot is made of polybutylene. This material has a class action lawsuit against them and Spartan cannot tie onto this material. Spartan will not know if polybutylene is ran all the way to this hose bib until we open up the ceiling. If it is all polybutylene, it will need to be replaced with pex.
