The customer contacted us regarding a leaking toilet. Upon arrival, we conducted a thorough inspection of the unit. The issue was identified as a faulty toilet flapper that was allowing water to leak from the tank into the bowl continuously. This leak caused the fill valve to cycle repeatedly in an attempt to maintain the proper water level in the tank, resulting in constant water flow and potential water waste. We explained to the customer that while replacing the flapper is a common solution, in this case, it might not completely resolve the problem due to potential additional wear or malfunction in the fill valve assembly or other internal components. Therefore, we provided an estimate for a minor toilet rebuild, which includes replacing the flapper, the fill valve, and performing a full flush mechanism assessment to ensure proper operation.
