After the first plumber tried to sell me some shady code requirements, Kyle was a refreshing breath of honesty. At the end of the day, he took his time to diagnose the problem and finally install a replacement water heater - all after the end of a normal day. It made for a long day for him, but I'm a very satisfied customer.

The Toto master bath toilet we installed about a month ago had a faulty flush valve. I ordered THU407 valve gasket and returned to replace it. The tank is holding water now.
Southside plumbing replaced old sump pump, the motor and pump had failed. Replaced with a new zoeller 1/3 hp pump, and new zoeller check valve, and approximately 3’ of ABS pipe. Noted to homeowner that the discharge for sump pump is not hooked up properly, it is currently piped into a main 3” stack going out to the main. Advised that it is improperly hooked up and should be addressed. Estimate to reroute the discharge line will be sent out.
Installed customer supplied shower valve. Cleaned off excess amount of silicone that was all over the shower trim. Cut out the backside of the drywall for access of shower valve. Cut out new Bored as an access panel Inside the closet.
The clients home has copper drain fittings attached to stainless steel pipe for the drainage system. A soldered elbow right below a toilet had sprung a minor leak and the client had put tape on it to stop the leak. Though the fitting was not actively leaking, The home is being sold soon and the pipe needs to be properly repaired. Southside Plumbing cut out the section of piping including a wye branch fitting. The piping was replaced with new PVC plastic and proper transition bands had to be used between the plastic and the metallic piping.
Sewer main is clogged. It is backing up through the floor drain near the water heater. We can attempt to clear the blockage through the stack cleanout near the floor drain. I ran the snake through the cleanout 5 times to 70 ft. There was nothing on my cable so I can’t be sure what caused the blockage. However the standing water around the floor drain cleared and went down the drain. I also dumped 15 gallons of water down the floor drain so I could clear all deposits within the trap. All is draining free and clear now.
-Install new check valve for sump pump. -Rerouted discharge line away from the shelving to eliminate vibration through the house. - Highly recommend putting on a new shut off valve to water main.
The tenant had a clogged kitchen sink drain. The water backed up into the sink very fast. This indicated either a major blockage of a clog very close to the sink. I checked the drain stack and it was empty. I pulled the trap to check and found a popsicle stick, hair, and some food clogging the trap. I emptied the trap and cleared the blockage. I ran the water in both basins to test. The water is draining free and clear with no leaks.
Replaced the old galvanized tee and snaked the line to clear a slight blockage. I ran water in the drain for 15 minutes with no back up of leaks.
Upon arrival, the pressure valve was all the way screwed in, check the pressure at 90 PSI. Adjusted pressure down to 70 psi. Checked out the front yard sprinkler system. The pressure would reduce down to 28 psi when the front yard was turned on. Almost none of the heads would pop up. When the backyard sprinkler was going, the pressure was at 41 psi and all of the heads completely popped up. Front hose bib needs parts, Customer is going to look to replace it himself.
Client has a new kitchen faucet they would like installed. Southside Plumbing installed the faucet along with a new soap dispenser.
The kitchen sink faucet has low pressure on the hot side only. After removing and examining the shutoff valves below, it was discovered that gasket inside the hot water valve was missing a piece. The valves were replaced using new quarter turn ball valves. The missing piece of gasket is lodged somewhere between the hot water valve and the faucet cartridge. Southside Plumbing made an attempt to remove the piece of gasket from the flex hose by blowing down into the line with compressed air. We were unsuccessful in removing the piece from the hot line And the faucet will have to be replaced.
Southside plumbing replaced 3/4” back flow that had a crack in the valve. Replaced the whole back flow. Also replaced the 3/4” sprinkler valve inside that was not easy to operate. It felt like it was beginning to be seized, and the handle was extremely difficult to operate. Everything was on and working when I left, including back flow.
Capped water and drain line for dishwasher. Cleared kitchen sink drain with electric snake.
The toilet previously worked on was installed using a new toilet flange. The new flange was installed using a transition band down below the flange. Where the transition band connected onto lead piping, the band was a little loose and needed to be tightened. The band isn’t fitting completely right but the leak stopped when the band was tightened.
