Found the Reach-In freezer in the mid forties and the evaporator coil frozen solidly. Put the unit into defrost and the defrost element was drawing 8.2 amps. The unit stayed in defrost and the heating element stayed on. Unplugged the unit and defrosted the evaporator coil with a heat gun. Noted that the doors did not close all the way sometimes. Adjusted the spring tension on the doors. Also found that the condenser coil was blocked in between the fins. Blew the coil out and cleaned the back guard a bit. Turned the unit on and tested. The unit started to cool down. It will take awhile because it is about 33 percent full of defrosted food. The temperature was 25 degrees Fahrenheit when leaving. Made sure the defrost clock was keeping time. Got the okay to replace the torn door gaskets. Need two door gaskets. 8/28/19 Removed the door gaskets and installed new ones. The new gaskets will take several days to seal themselves properly.
