Just finished at the Dallas County Jail Sheriff's Bond Desk where we filed a writ of habeas corpus on a client to have a bond set on his DWI case out of Carrollton. We are trying to work as quickly as possible in hopes of getting him released before they place an immigration detained or ICE Hold on him. Rather than have him wait until the afternoon for a local judge to set bond, we filed an automatic writ and posted a cash bond. That's the fastest way to get somebody out of a suburban jail.
