Getting a Family Violence Assault case reduced for one of our clients to a Class C deferred adjudication for disorderly conduct. With the judge unavailable I asked the bailiff (since he's there every day) how the judge typically handled upfront payment of court costs and fines on a Class C reduction and he said he didn't know because that judge doesn't do many Class C's. And one of the other prosecutors as well as one of the clerks seemed surprised by the one day deferred adjudication. But it's a special circumstance that allowed us to get such a good result. Prosecutor agreed to the 1 day deferred and a $100 fine. In 24 hours our client's case will be dismissed.
