My client was advised by his immigration attorney in the Second City that he needed a dismissal or not guilty on his class C misdemeanor public intoxication charge. No other outcome would suffice. I set the case for trial and then went in prior and worked out a pretrial diversion dismissal for client. Ordinarily that would be no big deal but this is from a place that normally doesn't do that sort of thing. I won't say what city it was but it's not in Dallas County.
