That's especially true if your cell phone signal dances right through the area a crime was committed at the time the crime occurred by someone matching your description on a motorcycle just like yours. Client facing probation revocations (motions to proceed to adjudication) on two robbery cases out of Tarrant County. Probation had already handed him several increasingly serious punishments for failing to complete the terms of his probation successfully. Recommendation for SAFP (custodial treatment followed by halfway house and intensive outpatient treatment) was their last offer to keep him on his deferred. Client had many well considered reasons for rejecting that option. We're working on getting him released on bond to assess the best resolution of his difficult situation.
Came to Tarrant County to get time served for a client on a misdemeanor weed case. She'd been picked up on a warrant for missing court. This last trip to jail cost her the house, her kids, her job, everything. I'm sure she's glad to be getting out but now she has to start over. Even a little possession of marijuana case can mean big trouble for someone living on the edge financially. Glad she'sgetting out but it's sad to see what she's been through.
Tried to help my client accept an extremely good deal on her case in Tarrant County but she couldn't make it to court. We'd already gotten a break on the last court setting to move it to today so the court is out of patience. Warrant tonight. We'll come back and clear the warrant later by taking the deal unless she gets arrested first. Only so much we can do.

Came to court in Tarrant County today to handle a criminal defense matter on a possession of marijuana case try to keep my client from getting a warrant. We were set for a disposition but she couldn't make the setting because her job said they would have to fire her if she missed work today. Talked to the judge about it. We'd been making all her settings and she wants to take care of her case but she can't afford to lose her job. Judge let us reset for a week so she can make it in to court. No warrant, no bond forfeiture, no arrest, no jail, no new bond and no loss of her job. Good result!
Met with a Criminal defense client in Tarrant County Jail with theft charges across three counties (including a probation violation in Dallas County) and over a half million in bonds. Going to try to wrap these up for her so she can get back to work and live a more normal life.
Just got my client's Criminal Mischief case dismissed in Tarrant County. She admitted to taking a baseball bat to her boyfriend's car windshield. On the downside, my parking tab was $15 for 35 minutes.
