Posting bonds on City of Garland Municipal Court warrants for a client who is being held in the Dallas County Jail (Lew Sterrett) on tickets from the Garland Police Department. Also posting on her tickets out of other agencies as well as for her Dallas County possession of marijuana case.
In Garland Municipal Court today to handle some old tickets for my client. We had gotten his tickets out of warrant status. The officers were all still with the Garland Police Department so we couldn't find dismissals that way. But the best attorneys always find other ways. A couple were too old for them to prove so two dismissals rolled off that way. A third dismissal came as part of a deal we arranged and the remaining tickets were both lowered and placed on deferred adjudication. So the end result will be dismissals on all tickets for a greatly reduced amount.
Going over some case files for Garland matters in our office. Remember, if you get stopped, arrested or questioned, it's almost always best for your criminal defense attorney if you don't say anything and don't consent to any searches. Don't just hand them all the things they need to prosecute you. If they can get what they need, let them do it without your help. Don't run from the police of course. Comply with their directions, be polite and respectful and don't resist if they are going to arrest you. Basically, don't do anything to make your case tougher for us. That's not because we don't want to work harder, it's just in your best interest for the case to be easier.

Client's misdemeanor theft case dismissed at the City of Garland Municipal Court this afternoon. Complaint was defective so the prosecutor tossed it.
Posting bonds on warrants at Garland Municipal Court to keep some of my clients out of jail. Take care of your traffic tickets and don't pay them or sit them out. That just gives you convictions and gets you in deeper with surcharges and suspensions
Got a dismissal for my client on her theft case out of the City of Garland. She was accused of stealing wine and olives. Not anymore!
My client's City of Garland Municipal Court "left turn from wrong lane" ticket was dismissed today for a technical deficiency in the complaint. Prosecutor wouldn't dismiss but offered to cut it to $150 or $190 if I argued a motion to the judge and lost. So risking $40 of my client's money, I took it to the judge and the judge agreed with me. Complaint didn't state a violation. Dismissed. Nothing high stakes here but I'm sure my client will like zero dollars a lot better than $190 or even $150.
Posting bonds at the Garland Jail to release a client arrested on traffic ticket warrants from Garland Police through the Municipal Court. Speeding, FMFR (no insurance), and No Driver License. We'll go to court to get dismissals so he can get a drivers license and keep all this straight. We actually prefer it when our clients get cleared up to stay out of trouble on tickets. We're fine taking new clients over repeat business. There are still plenty who need help out there.
