Finalized an expunction today in Collin County. Client was a high school student who got arrested for having a little marijuana in her purse at a party. We went to her court dates with them and negotiated a deal with the prosecutor to have her case dismissed. Her parents didn't want a youthful indiscretion to affect her future or preclude her from getting into college. Now it's all been expunged. The law actually allows her to legally deny it ever happened.
Filed a misdemeanor writ of habeas corpus in Collin County to get a bond set on a person being held in the Collin County Jail without bond. He was first held in the Plano jail but transferred. The Jailer told the family he would not have a bond set until tomorrow morning but we can get him out using this process.
