Good service, but....

I just had my annual servicing on my AC unit within the last couple of months. At that time there was one part that was "needing to be replaced soon". Why two months later did hte entire machine crap out? DEAD and FRIED parts, cost me $800+ to fix! Seems to me this should have been caught BEFORE it died in 95 degree weather. Yes? (Also, you guys never get my name right... it's not Cathy, it's Kathy, and my last name is wrong too. Sigh.)

Upon arrival find the gas valve for the water heater has failed. Checked millivolts on thermopile and reading 575, burner is clean. Travel to obtain necessary parts and return to replace defective gas valve and pilot assembly that came with new gas valve. Drained water heater, filled back up while doing gas connections. Checked all gas connections for leaks, went to all sinks and tubs and got as much air out of lines as possible. Told homeowner it will take at least 1-2 hours to get hot water back and maybe some air will spit water out. Homeowner is aware of all situations with water heater meaning time for water to get back, if they smell gas where to turn knob to off and air in lines.

Mini Diagnostic- No cooling Are and homeowner states the living room unit is not cooling properly. Findings: Today I find the unit to be low on refrigerant as well as a few head units and remotes were still left in the heating mode. Cycle all head units to cooling and verify unit is low on refrigerant. Today I am going to recharge the unit due to extreme temperatures and we are going to reschedule a time for Red and Nick R to come out in September to do a proper leak test and recharge. If any charges are needed we will quote the homeowner at that time. Recharge unit with R410A refrigerant and get back to cooling. Refrigerant measurements are as follows: High side:333psi Low side:126PSI VSAT-42F LSAT-102F Suction temp-58F Liquid temp-98F Temperature drop across head units: Living room head: 79 to 55 Doll room head: 70 to 52F Master head: 71 to 49F Guest head 1: 70-52F Guest head 2: 70-50F Used a total of 8 pounds 8 ounces of R410A refrigerant. I also added UV leak seal to the s

I stood on the back porch and could hear what sounded like a rattle. The rattle sounded like it was coming from the breaker panel. I’m not sure exactly where the noise is coming from. Homeowner had an electrician come out and he could not figure out where the noise was coming from either. All of the numbers on the compressor and fan motor look fine. Cleaned unit and could not hear noise from unit, only outside near panel. Registers reading 52 degrees with home at 74 degrees. Unit cooling and functional upon departure.
