Excellent service

Mark took extra care to not do the service on the day appointed because of unusually cold weather. He returned the next day to complete the service call.

Electrical noise in attic

Johnathan is an excellent tech. He again spent a good of time trouble shooting the issue, but still could not pinpoint the problem. We also had A-Plus clean all the vents in the house. Now the noise is much less frequent and lasts a much shorter time. We will continue to monitor. Thanks, Norm Roy

Find the noise

Johnathan seems to be an excellent tech. While he made some adjustments to the system, he was not able to reproduce the problem. For several days we have been getting a loud mechanical noise from the attic. This happens sporadically and can last from 15 to 45 minutes at a time. I played a recording of the very loud noise for Johnathan. Let’s hope it does not return.

Warranty call on a ruud heat pump split system it’s about right at a year old. Found the system a block of ice ,deice the system all I could. Checked the dampers to make sure they were opening and closing ,also check the refrigerant pressures. At this time I cannot find a failure ,I have instructed customer to keep an eye on the upstairs damper as it may have got stuck closed . Both dampers are operating normally. Customer is going to let the system run and fan only for several hours to finish deicing.

This should be considered a callback since I was here one week over a month ago. The leak that I had fixed is fine took the door off of the air handler upstairs heard the coil hissing took a video of one of the loops leaking. New coil needs to be ordered . Did research on the warranty the product was never registered all I could find was that train gives a default five year parts warranty which this falls under.

2017 system was found to be condensating from the bottom of the air handler due to a partially restricted drain line. The drain line was cut and cleared. No condensation was noted at the metal trunk line. This trunk line is a custom-made preinsulated metal box, which is insulated within, and requires no insulation without. All flex connections were noted to be secure and well insulated. A small 2 inch portion of the copper vapor line was indeed discovered to be uninsulated. A taped seam had pulled away due to heat shrinkage of the insultube. This seam was resecured with black tape. A few droplets of condensation were recently noted on one of the upstairs registers. This register is located adjacent to the attic access door, and very well may have began to sweat after opening the attic. The boot is properly insulated. Problematic sweating registers may be replaced with a plastic model if an issue persists without cause. No further issues were presently detected with the HVAC equipm

Prepaid maintenance on a 2010 train heat pump split system. During inspection found the evaporator coil in really bad shape due to heavy corrosion. This coil is at Fairpoint and needs to be replaced. The outdoor unit has a corroded filter drier . No leaks are present at this time though the system is not operating as efficiently as it could . Ultimately recommending replacement of system due to heavy corrosion ,future repairs ,age ,and efficiency. System has a variable speed air handler on a 13 seer condenser ,customer might want to consider going up in seer rating . Homeowner is going to do his research and let us know when you would like to speak to a comfort adviser about replacement. Unit that is here can fail at any time.
