Finally Fixed We Hope

After almost a month without heat we are now fixed (crossed fingers). Chris spent the entire morning installing the new compressor and as of Dec 19th alls well. Thank you Chris and a Merry Christmas.

Going the Extra Mile

System down again on Sunday Last time a month ago. Got service on Sunday but was unable to fix. They drove to Wilmington and got a part for us. Installed Monday afternoon and we were cool again. Wife is bed ridden with dementia. Thanks ladies and men of A-1

I am sorry though to hear your system is acting up again, with older systems it is not that uncommon that multiple issues are occurring at the same time. Here we go again

Had this unit for a little over 1.5 years. Every time it gets warm this unit does not cool. Apparently the same problem as last year - cracked nut that allows all the coolant to escape at the wall unit. Could not fix has to come back with a proper sized nut.

Preformed a winter maintenance on a Trane heat pump. Indoor unit: I checked amps on blower motor and heat, I checked wire connections, I checked Uv light, I checked the coils, I checked the drain pans and drain line, I cleaned the p-trap with a brush, I checked the float switch, I checked the surrounding ductwork. Outdoor unit: I checked amps on compressor and fan motor, I checked capacitor, I checked around the contactors and the board, I looked into the unit for rubbed wires, I checked around the reversing valve, I vacuumed the drain line, I washed the unit down with water.

Performed routine maintenance on 2 systems. Found the downstairs system which is a 2005 Goodman to be in very rough shape and is an r22 system. Coil and compressor were extremely rusted along with the coil being very old and dirty also needed a new capacitor. Upstairs unit was working properly at this time. Comfort advisor is scheduled to come out today at 2:00 pm

2005 Lennox R22 Unit had frozen. Checked pressures. Checked compressor and motor amps. Checked capacitor. System had failed to go into defrost. Defrost board and sensor will need to be replaced. Gave estimate for repair. Nicole was unavailable during visit to authorize ordering part. Emailed estimate. Reccomend replacing system due to age. Nicole is going to call the office when she is available.

2005 Goodman’s 2 systems Checked systems and found multiple concerns. Both systems are R22. Air handler inside home has heavy rust on evaporator coil. Air handler in outdoor closet has a badly rusted spot on coil and the blower motor is slightly over amping. Pressures on both systems are a little low. Both systems have had some refrigerant loss and the over amping blower motor is likely to fail. Customer requested a comfort advisor to come out about replacement systems.

Performed routine maintenance on a 1998 Goodman heat pump split system for the mini side and a 2013 carrier heat pump split system for the main side. During inspection found the carrier system running slightly low on refrigerant pressures indicating there is a leak. I did check all motors amps and capacitors . The condition of the evaporator coil on the carrier system is pretty rough. Visual inspection of the coil did not show any leaks at this time. Customer is going to monitor the system and let his home warranty company know if there’s an issue. The 1998 is doing all I can do. Motor amps, refrigerant pressure , and capacitors are ok though the system overall is not in good shape and should be replaced if any issues come up .

2019 Carrier Checked pressures. Checked voltage and connections throughout. Checked amp draw on compressor and fan motors. Checked safety switch. Checked zone operation. Checked capacitor. Checked filter. UV bulb is not burned out however it has heavy burn marks. Customer does not want to replace UV bulb at this time. No other issues found. Unit is working properly at this time.

Performed maintenance on both air handlers and condensers for unit 406 and 406 a. Checked all voltages and amperage and capacitor‘s all are OK at this time. Checked float switches all are OK at this time. Both air handlers have blue lights in both, bulbs burnt out and not operational at this time. Need to replace both these bulbs I have taken pictures with models to re-order if customer chooses to do so. Add in a note whoever comes for next maintenance make sure you get a master key as well as the regular keys the master key is the only one to open doors to service air handler’s.

2020 Trane 2013 Bryant Indoor units: I checked amps on the fan motor and heat strips, I checked the float switches, I checked the coils, I checked the filters, I checked drain pan, I checked the drain pump, I checked the heat coming out of the vents. Outdoor units: I checked the coils, I checked the compressors and fan motors I checked the capacitors, I checked the temperature on the line sets, I looked into the units and behind the boards. Everything is working properly at this point in time.
