Heat performance tuneup times one system. Complete system was installed May 20 24. Everything is clean on the inside. Gas pressure is perfect. I supplied and changed out one 20 x 25 x 4 filter. System operating at manufacturer specs at this time.
Completed a 2 system gas furnace heat maintenance. Checked for leakage, tested voltage, tested amperage, checked flame sensor and igniter. Everything tested green. Systems are heating properly. Customer is interested in adding a return to the master bedroom. It may be possible but need a second opinion from one of our technicians to see if we can fit the duct from the system down to the second floor.
Completed with heat 1 on a 2005 carrier gas up flow in closet 5 ton, unit poorly hearing due to age and failing components, found blower motor with oil stains shaking, inducer motor showing wear along with flame sensor, ignitor, gas valve opened untill second attempt and heat exchanger has corrosion and rust. Giving customer the option to do all preventative repairs, minimum repairs, furnace upgrade or complete. Customer only approved to replace flame sensor at time since she needs to talk to son about replacing unit, money spent today will go towards a new unit if is in less then 4 months.
Customer said that outdoor unit was short cycling and that we just blew out her primary drain. I checked the attic and sure enough, the drain was clogged. I blew it out but didn’t collect any payment because I was here 30 days ago. I believe the customers sinks are clogged so I advised her to call a plumber.
2 system maintenance, 2015 gas furnace, u.s. , d.s. blower motor amps are slightly high on both, induced amps are max on both units, clear pressure tube and checked flame sensors, flame sensors are pitted and strongly recommended changing both unit flame sensors and HSI, also left estimate for duct cleaning on both systems
Completed with thermostat on a 2013 gas horizontal in attic, found blown 5 amp fuse on furnace with a very hot transformer. Recommended replacing fuse and transformer. Customer approved to replace fuse only at this time.
Estimate for drain repair and Vent pipe repair
Completed with estimate to replace a complete 3.5 ton upflow gas in closet. Left estimate with customer. Customer not ready to move forward at this time since she is getting more bids and need to talk to husband as well.
Customer called and said unit wasn’t cooling. I wasn’t getting 240V past the contactor. Changed it out now system is cooling properly. Recent diagnosis was a bad TXV. I checked the refrigerant levels and it looked good. No signs of freezing up. Warranty Service Work.
Dispatched to investigate a no cool downstairs. First time we’ve ever been here. Compressor stopped working after I got it running due to the age of the system. It is an R 22 system. Steve and Kim have decided to purchase a new system from us.
Dispatched to investigate a no cool upstairs. I found the condenser fan motor to be locked up. I am leaving an estimate for the motor outside. I did detect the leak back in April when I did the maintenance and I detected the leak today and inside that coil. So the upstairs repair is $7700, plus refrigerant. I am leaving estimates for new equipment, single stage and two stage.
Completed with no cool on a brand new unit gas horizontal in attic. Found evaporator coil completely frozen up like a block of ice. Unable to do anything at this time untill ice melts. We need to come back tomorrow and find the leak.
Completed with no cool on upstairs gas horizontal in attic 2014 upstairs and condenser r22 about 15 years . Found unit cooling but compresor pulling high amps, pitted contactor, motor showing wear and weak capacitor. Giving customer to do the minimum repairs, condenser upgrade or complete unit. Customer cannot make a decision at this point since he needs to talk to wife before making any decision.
