Arrived for maintenance, started raining very steady, unable to do maintenance on condenser outside, will have to reschedule for when rain stops. Checks amps on blower motor, changed filter provided by homeowner, checked on slow drip, addressed the drip.
Call back, last call wired in float switched that was bypassed, mentioned to homeowner that it might trip, was fine all night and early afternoon, then float started tripping, found unit not angled correctly, bypassed float switch again since unit was working with it bypassed, unit needs to be leveled out, she is going to get with her handyman, she understands that we hold no responsibility for damage caused by bypassing the float switch. Red wires are the wires to be used for float switch
System cooling, rescheduling for tomorrow
Performed air conditioning maintenance , one Lennox straight electric system from 1990s. Heat strips are not on while cooling. Coil has seen better days. System is still cooling but homeowner should plan for failure of this system. Electing to keep everything as is today.
Performed heating maintenance on Lennox air handler Upflow in closet. Straight electric one circuit hooked up to two breakers in furnace. 15kw. 5 mfd run capacitor was reading 1.3mfd. Replaced with new turbo mini. Talked to homeowner about possibly getting estimates for system replacement due to age, coil leaking slowly but at this time he is not interested about making that investment. System heating and cooling at todays visit.
