Joel as usual did an excellent job. He was persistent on determining cause of our erratic system performance that appeared to be form the original installation. I think he has also resolved the problem with the xl850 thermostat that prevented it from switching to auxiliary heat when temperature plummeted. Thanks again Joel.
They were called for a intermittent system problem. The first technician trouble shot the system and installed a used Trane XL1050 thermostat. The system appeared to work so he charged us $801.75 which was $578 for the xl1050 and S223.75 for labor. Five minutes after he left the system crashed. We called home office and they referred us to another technician. He came out and again trouble shot system. He then installed a Trane xl850 thermostat. They changed the model number of the thermostat on the original receipt to reflect the zxl850 but they left the price of the xl850 at the same price as the xl 1050 even though the xl850 lists for $375 on line. They insisted there was no error in there. A problem then appeared in that the xl850. It is for a system that has a primary and emergency supply. The only way we can get the auxiliary heat to come on is to manually set it on using the thermostat. Our system is a dual fuel system that requires the thermostat to automatically switch systems at a given temperature which an xl824 thermostat is designed for and lists for $379. Now I'm being told the control board for the furnace needs to be replaced and it costs $1400. Really? Does that mean that after paying for a service call to fix my system that didn't fix my system I need to replace the control board. If I agree to that the question I have is do I get to return the xl850 and have my old thermostat reinstalled and get the $801 refunded?
Justin was very efficient and quickly diagnosed the problem. He then checked to make sure everything worked.
Joel has been our service technician for a long time. He is sharp technically and very personable.
AC Pros is always ask if there have been any recent issues and if not they will explain what they are going to do during this maintenance and always do a great job
Even when a new problem arises, Joel is on top of fixing the problem.
Joel performed great as usual. He has serviced our system many time over the 10 years we've been with AC Pros always 5 star service.
Completed ac tune up . Found some wear on contactor that would be a good idea to replace soon before it stops working. No other recommendations at this time .
Completed ac tune up on all 3 units. Walked through everything with customer but Tune up form will be emailed as well.
Call was originally scheduled for Friday the 17th. But due to the weather being too cold to check the charge on this heat pump I decided to wait until today when it was 70°. When I arrived I informed David that I was going to put it in the test mode outside. After system ran for about 10 minutes it gave me a charged indication. I advised David that newer systems are designed to run down to a minimum of 25° on the thermostat auxiliary lockout. 35° is what David had previously on his previous thermostat. System is a 13 year old dual fuel heat pump. When the temperature is mild the heat pump runs just fine. I advised David when it gets extremely cold to switch it directly to emergency heat so the heat pump will not fail prematurely. I also advised David that his windows are a high concern for his HVAC system too. They are single pane and weatherstripping is weathered. We can give a no cost estimate at any time.
Only issue I found with the system was the burners were not lighting properly. The HSI was on top so I put it on the bottom. System seems to be operating properly at this time.
One system check up on trains we installed. No issues found at this time.
Swapped out the thermostat after not getting voltage from common to r but 12.6 at the furnace and from c to d at the stat. Furnace is showing signs of board failure and I still believe the board is bad. Given system age and cost to replace the board, my recommendation was not to do the board and consider investing in a furnace at least. Temp from the vents was 86 which is over 20 degrees lower than expected and degree lower than st the unit. Means customer is losing alot in the ductwork which is half hard pipe and half flex. Can confirm heat is running but system has issues that need to be addressed.
After installing 850 and it ran for two full days I discovered that the T cont 900 Thermostat was failing. I set up the 850 for the dual fuel heat pump. System is heating properly at this time.
Heat performance tuneup times one system. Filter needs to be changed. Inspect blower, evaporator and ductwork. Check heat strips, refrigerant levels. Coils are clean at this time. System is operating at manufacture specs at this time.
Dispatch for a callback from Tuesday maintenance. I advise Jean that the outdoor temperature may be too cold for the heat pump. I enabled the indoor electric heat for now. Gave Jean instructions on how to put it back.
Apon arrival checked in with customer the following are my findings Rewired air handler and replace thermosystem is working properly now
Heat performance tuneup times two systems. Test voltage and app draws on both air handler‘s. Tested refrigerant pressures amp draws and defrost cycle on the heat pump. Changed out filters client supplied. Systems are operating at manufacture specs at this time. Jean will renew her maintenance on the spring visit
Heat performance tuneup times one system. Client changes his own filter. No gas leaks or carbon monoxide detected. System is heating properly at this time.
Heat performance tuneup x 1 system. Only issue I found was the Tstat was not communicating. Tighten all wire connections and system started working properly
Checked all three system flame sensors , igniters , flu pipes and condensate lines . Inspected ducts for leaks . Found new system was. Ot converted to LP so they have the heat off for now . Also scheduled three system duct cleaning for monday . Had construction done and ducts are covered . 1734 was quoted.
Found blown fuse behind display screen . Changed out and checked for short. System is operational.
