I arrived at our clients Home for the unit not cooling properly. I immediately proceeded into the attic and did a visual inspection of the equipment. I found a copper line going into the evaporator coil to be frozen. And subsequently there is water dripping into the secondary drain pan. I proceeded outside And found the outdoor compressor to be frozen over. I tested electronics on the outdoor condenser and found the contactor to be near failure as well. I went back inside and opened the evaporator coil and found it to be a complete block of ice. While in the attic, I also inspected the blower motor, it had oil all over itself indicating that it was also near complete failure. I shared all my finding with our client and we attempted to put the unit in heat mode to melt the unit. I let it run but it reached thermal limit due to the hot nature of the home.
