Arrived to the upstairs unit not cooling properly. Our clients stated the downstairs was cooling properly but the upstairs area was not cooling and he had one single vent that was very loud pushing a lot of air at the top of the stairs. I proceeded into the attic and began to test and inspect the equipment. I ultimately diagnosed a failed upstairs thermostat. I showed my findings to our clients and gave him options to replace the thermostat. He elected to purchase and replace the thermostat himself. I sent him an estimate to install a thermostat if he is unable to complete it himself. I put back the old thermostat and the damper motor closed. Our clients stated is aware that the motor is directly connected with the thermostat.
