I performed a single heating maintenance on a 2005 straight electric airhandler and the outdoor unit is from 2014. I checked amps, capacitor, filter, cleanliness, and safeties. The system is heating, but I do have some areas of concern. I noticed that the blower capacitor is out of range and is failing. The bearings in the blower motor are worn and the motor is currently leaking oil. The blower wheel and evaporator coil has growth/buildup present. The center heat strip is likely becoming brittle determined by my amp readings. I brought these issues to the customer’s attention and he elected to not perform any repairs on the system at this time.
