The service was FAR beyond excellent (you thought this was a bad review). The young man was professional, polite, knowledgeable and quick. My dog took to him right off and he is a hell of a judge of character!! The landlord paid so I can’t comment on the price. Everything else is great. No cool. Brand new 4 ton Goodman coil and condenser we installed 7/31/23. Customer was complaining of low air flow since installation and unit would not get below 80°. Upon arrival I found the compressor and the Evap coil partially frozen. Checked refrigerant pressures, amp draws, blower speed, and blower cap. Determined there is an airflow issue with the system but unable to determine where the cause is. Will submit install issue form to have install come out and inspect duct connection as well as the underside of the coil to make sure there is no blockage.
No cool. 2017 nordyne package heat pump for mobile home. Upon arrival I found the thermostat with a locked out screen. Removed from wall, removed batteries and reinserted them, and reset the thermostat and unit fired right up with no issues. Let system run while checking unit and it brought the house down from 105° to 96° before leaving. Advised customer that I did write up and estimate to replace the thermostat if issue happens again, but unit is running and cooling as designed at this time.
Technician found reach in cooler used at serving window has bad CFM that is squealing. Will need to install new CFM and test operations. Arrived n site with new motor. Started pulling old motor out once tech was able to disconnect the wiring he found the the old motor had a 3 pin wiring harness and the new motor only had two. Old motor only used two of the pins the the new one would not match up properly. Tech will let kandyce know and have correct motor ordered. Will also let office know and pause job. Arrived on site with correct motor start trying to remove the motor and found all the hardware o be in metric. Ran to store and grabbed metric ratchet set. Came back and removed motor installed new one and wired it to old plug. Turned unit on. After anti short delay everything came on and started cooling properly. Collected payment and signatures. All work is complete.
No cool. 2005 Amana split gas for mobile home. Found condenser fan motor out on thermal overload. Cooled motor off and started motor again. Checked amps, motor was pulling 2.2 amps rated for 1.8. Recommened to customer to replace motor but also discussed replacement options due to age of equipment and r22 phase out. Customer just wanted motor repalced today. Replaced motor and tested operation. No other issues found at this time. Refrigerant pressures seemed off, but that is due to high heat load in the house.
No cool. 1982 carrier gas pack 5 ton rtu. Upon arrival I found the batteries dead in the thermostat and replaced them with customer supplied batteries. Went on rooftop and unit was now running. Checked r22 refrigerant pressures, amp draws, capacitors and delta t. When pulling disconnect the pull handle broke off in my hand, unable to disconnect power to unit at disconnect. Could smell burning and the handle had obvious melting spots in it. Found unit low on r22 refrigerant, compressor pulling high amps, compressor capacitor reading 0 out of 65, hard start capacitor reading below specs, and blower capacitor reading 1 out of 10. Went over options with customer and he is interested in replacing the system, but has a home warranty and would like to see if the can help offset the cost. Advised customer for safety reasons with that disconnect, I left the breaker off to the system so it was not getting power. Unit is not running at this time.
Technician found mechanical temp controls not accurate. Will need to install new temp control and test operation. Arrived on site to find freezer at 25 degrees F. Recently worked on unit not running. Checked unit and had proper voltage to condenser. Found HPS not sending voltage through. Attempted to reset HPS manual reset. HOS would not reset. Hooked up gauges and bypassed HPS. Powered unit on and it ran. Unit was not hitting 410 PSI at which safety would open. Bad HPS. Went to supply house and picked up mechanical HPS and installed it under warranty. Replaced unit temp control panel n freezer at evaporator. Powered unit on and verified operations.
No cool. 2021 American standard 3.5 ton condenser with a 2002 Trane 3 ton Evap coil and furnace. Upon inspection I found the unit completely frozen up. After thawing unit I found that there is a non oem txv installed on the Evap coil and that r410a refrigerant pressures appear to be very low which caused the unit to freeze up. After discussing with the customer I found that another company had come out and replaced just the condenser in 2021. Explained to the customer that with the age and stat of the equipment the least that needs to be done would be to replace the Evap coil and furnace with an ahri match to the outdoor equipment, and if that is unable to be done due to the new efficiency requirements to replace the entire system. Customer has homeowners insurance through farm bureau and they are hoping that they will take care of everything after the customer pays the deductible. Filled out paperwork as best as we could and explained to customer that we would need confirmation of pay
Put tape and dope on leaking threads on RO tank. Resolved
Technician found system low on refrigerant. Will need to recover existing refrigerant. Perform a nitrogen leak search. Attempt to repair leak if found. Install new filter drier. Pull vacuum. Convert to R427a refrigerant to include ac renew. More quotes may follow. Ambient Edge recommends system replacement over repairs due to age and condition. Returned to site. Checked in with management. RTU #3: Performed leak search with electronic leak detector. Inspected evap and condenser coils for any leaks. No leaks detected in coils. Found leak to be at the discharge king valve. Attached a T-fitting connector to the king valve to stop leak. Found secondary drain pan with lots of condensate water in it, indicating a drain problem in the primary drain line. Cut the primary drain line to blast nitrogen pressure through the line to clear it of any debris. Reconnected primary drain line with a pvc coupling. RTU#3 air handler: Found secondary drain pan with a drain line that is sloped upwards,
Repipe in 3/4 and 1/2 inch pex, angle stops, supply lines, expansion garbage disposal, RO, and hydro edge all installed. No leaks resolved
Came out and reset everything on the system and got unit running until new parts come in. Ordered new control boards for air handler as well as new media thermostat that is under warranty.
Warranty call back. We just replaced capacitors and contactor and found loose wire connection for common wire coming off of conatctor to capacitor that caused the wire to burn up and melt. Replaced wire and tested unit. Found no other issues. Unit is running and cooling as designed at this time.
