System went down after hours… went online to request an appointment…company called the next morning and less than 24hrs after system failed my A/C was up and running. Quick and excellent service by their technician Steve.

Great A/C service

I have a new Energy efficient A/C unit on back order from the Carrier factory and they are keeping my old unit running until the new one arrives. Bay Area has always giving me great service. I called them this morning and they were here this afternoon. Everything is cool again.

Like mom says… if you don’t have nice things to say

Incompetent… after I told the “tech” what was wrong, about 15 minutes later he came back and repeated what I told him. He proclaimed you have the lowest bid around. But still wanted to debate and connect the orange wire from the thermostat to the zone controller… that doesn’t go anywhere. He was adamant there’s no way we have heat… although we’ve had heat for years until a ruptured pipe shorted the zone controller. I’m not an HVAC apprentice or pro… I shouldn’t have to provide the solution. But we were charged the service call and given en estimate for repair with a 400% markup.

Bay Area Air Conditioning has been our AC service provider since the beginning. They installed the heating/air conditioning equipment at the time of our home construction and have provided quality service ever since. The equipment is always maintained to the highest standards and the technicians always respond to our questions with a knowledgeable and logical answer. They always take time to explain what service was done and why. Rob Hirsch has been involved with the servicing of our equipment for several years and does an outstanding job. Checked the t-stat which customer said wasn't working. It was ON upon arrival, checked the COOL and HEAT modes, found nothing wrong, explained to the customer the heat mode operations. That was the Carrier system.

Found system was running fine with dampers open, but when two of the three were closed if had restricted airflow. Inspected dampers and found that one was not springing to open position which would cause an air dam. Second damper was covered in spray foam insulation and I could not fully guarantee that it was not going to cause issues, customer preferred both replaced at once. Replaced, system is now in good operating condition at this time.
