The technicians diagnosis was completely different from the owner/manager of the company and Carrier.
The technician was supposed to be an expert on Carrier products but gave us his opinion that was completely wrong. Both Bay Area, Carrier and the installation company all stated the technician was wrong. We paid the $97 and are completely dissatisfied and still don’t have a solution to the problem.
I have been a customer of Bay Area AC since 2008. We replaced our ac in 2008 and have had excellent maintenance until 2020 when we replaced our unit again. There is nothing more important to a Florida resident than reliable air conditioning. I am looking forward to another 11 years with our new ac unit.
This was my first time using Bay Area AC, and my tune-up went great. Cliff was punctual, professional and courteous. He made some suggestions but was not pushy. I went ahead and signed up for the maintenance plan he offered because it was very reasonably priced compared to offers from other AC companies.
Cliff is efficient, thorough and very knowledgeable. Appreciated getting the same technician as before because he knows my system!
Repair technician came out the same afternoon and fixed the problem quickly. He was very knowledgeable and explained the issue/solution clearly. Would highly recommend!

During testing it was determined that the time frame to change function (heat-cool-heat 30 min) & smart recovery were causing confusion of operations. Smart recovery was then turned off (cust approved) & auto changeover to 5 min
Found the thermostat programmed for a two stage system even though the system doesn't have a second stage. When the system was calling for the second stage the system wouldn't come on. Reprogrammed the thermostat, tested the temperature split and foamed the line cover.

upon arrival the homeowner said that on occasions the smell in the heat mode would be so bad that they had to shut system down and air out house. I opened up cabinet and removed heat strip to see if any burnt wires or shorts. There were none. I removed the other panel and I found exposed insulation from cabint loose and coming apart from blower. I had not seen insulation in cabinet in two pieces before and is usually 0ne full piece. I removed blower motor and found insulation in blower wheel. Refer to pictures if needed. Insulation was being sucked into the blower motor and then burning in heat strip. This was causing the terrible smell. I showed homeowner of my findings and then repaired insulation in cabinet and both panel doors. Then I cleaned blower wheel and reassembled airhandler and ran blower to eliminate some glue smell. The insulation should not get into heater at this time. Homeowner concerned it was not repaired during recent tuneup.
