Smooth installation. Installers were on time, neat and courteous. No issues..
Following installation of my new heat pump, a bad thermostat wire prevented the unit from switching from heat to cooling. I called late afternoon on Friday Dec 31, Bay Area had a tech out here in less then an hour. He found the problem, made a temporary fix. Early Monday morning 2 techs were here to make a permanent fix. Just to clarify the bad wire was existing wire and not related the new equipment or installation.
Received prompt and courtesy service. Service technician answered my questions about the Carrier unit. Just moved in and prior owner had left notes. Clarified what notes were important for me to know about to help maintain unit.
Found no power to the condenser due to a tripped breaker. The compressor is shorted. Recommended system replacement. The customer would like only the condenser replaced. I was told by Dale that we will not just install a condenser on a nine year old air handler.
Found two factory wires disconnected. Reconnected those wires and started the system.
Checked over the system and found that the reversing valve isn't switching over into cooling mode.
Upon arrival customer stated that units are not heating. The two straight cool units were set to heat and both heat strips were not coming on. Inspected heat strip on both units and noticed that they were not wired. Heat is now functioning properly.
Did tune up cleaned drain pan unit is operating where it is supposed too

System maintenance on heatpump system.
Found the system frozen over. Thawed the system and checked the operation.
Tested and evaluated entire system. System is a 2 speed 4 ton Carrier with an FV series air handler. Checked refrigerant, running amps , static and temperature drop on indoor coil. The amount of water leaking from unit in video customer had look more like a water leak and not just condensation. System is working and not sweating profusely today. Other contractor replaced insulation in air handler about a week ago and may have already corrected problem. System thermostat is currently a NEST. This thermostat has no dehumidification control. ECOBEE will need to be installed is dehumidification control is needed. Cost for ECOBEE is $668. Some level of sweating will always occur as unit is installed in an unconditioned space in the attic. Recommendations to help minimize sweating . Do not set thermostat below 70 degrees. Use standard filters without pleats.
