Don was professional, very hard working and explained everything he was doing. The humidity is gone, temperature where it should be - in short, we finally have a comfortable feeling home. Thank you Don!
I appreciate Don Kemp's technical expertise and knowledge as well as his willingness to answer questions I had about my air conditioning system.
Customer called due to system not operating correctly. When I arrived system was on and operating but compressor was not. Looked in infinity controller history faults did not see any faults concerning the compressor or condenser. Turned system off and reset condenser breaker and turned system on in test mode system came on and operated compressor as well. Checked system operations in cooling all ok system was operating correctly. Took system out of tested mode and turned system back on in cooling. System came on and operated did not find any issues that would cause a problem at this time. Explained to customer system may have intermittent issue that cannot be detected at this time. System operating and draining at this time.
Unit was low on charge, enough for evap to freeze up. Added 1lbs. No charge, tech was out here yesterday fixing leak. Unit is running efficiently at this time. 20â° split. Pressures are normal. Vapor saturation 40â°.
Reversing wire (o) was disconnected, reconnected and tested equipment operations, reversing valve is shifting and operating
When we got on the roof we found both compressors running. The number 1 compressor had 3 in thick of ice around it. The bottom half of evaporator coil was solid ice as well as all the capillary tubes were froze together. I disconnected compressor so the ice could thaw. The compressor is running. This was same issues as last time other than filters dirty. They are clean since just replaced. The belt is tight on blower motor. The entire system is dirty as far as both coils. There may be a possible leak and low on MO99 or coils are impacted. I could not trouble shoot at this time so I am rescheduling and will need to bring MO99 in case of leak.
Customer concern was thermostat would go blank throughout the day and then reset itself. Upon arrival thermostat was on and noticed customer had old style float switch we no longer use. Replaced old float switch with new one. Unit is running at this time.
Customer concern was inside building was hot. On arrival realized unit on rooftop. extension ladder required as well as a 2 man job . Customer was scheduled for 3:00pm. Informed customer I was not aware of system was location. . Please reschedule for tomorrow for me and Jeff around noon customer has been waiting.
High voltage wire in air handler melted when emergency electric heat was turned on. Possible wrong wire size was used for the system's 10kw heat strips. May need to run new high voltage wire from air handler to breaker panel.
Spoke with the customer. Recommend having us look at the system for her. I would recommend first appointment in the day so we can monitor the systems operation during the colder environment.
Found fuse blown in air handler. Discovered rub out in thermostat wire in the condensing unit. Confirmed with customer to repair it and replace fuse. Ran system in heat mode and found suction pressure low with system defrosting every five minutes. Heating TXV sensing bulb not responding to temperature change. Gave quote for replacement and put in a part quote form to check whether or not the unit has a Part warranty. Tried to run systems heat strips and found thermostat want sending signal. Had old used thermostat in my truck that I installed for the cost of labor with no warranty to get the customer by. Unit is heating but will not do so effectively until TXV is replaced.
Spoke with customer on the phone in regards to remotely accessing thermostat. Online account has not been set up. Explain that we are unable to do so unless we have access to the house. Customer will set up an appointment when they are in town so we can come by and get that set up for them
Found system low on charge. Checked flares, flare nuts, service valve, and service ports. Found flare nuts leaking, and a Schrader core leaking. Together everything up until no more bubbles or leaks detected. Charged up system with 5 lbs of refrigerant. Unable to perfectly charge system due to cold. Will reschedule to have charge adjusted on Thursday when new installation is done.

Found drain plugged and EVAPORATOR coil more plugged. System dripping off coil. Coil would have to be removed and cleaned. Cleaned drain and pan to try to get through until unit is replaced or coil removed and cleaned . Could not get card to go through. Had no service. Office will need to call and get CC #
