Returned after being away for the summer and found that the AC wouldn't work. Jeff arrived quickly and made the repair in no time.
Customer called back and said he is having a whole home electrical problem. Canceled appointment but wants us to call and follow up to see if his problem is reserved or if he still needs service.
Built estimates and filed out job replacement sheet info for customer.
Tested drainrun from cleanout with 1 gal water, extent of drain working well Found high water in pan of unit, with algae build up preventing water from draining out of pan. Vacumed drain so as to clear first 6" of pipe and vacumed pan abap, treated pan and evap coil with peroxide Advised daughter on measures of continued treatment with peroxide. Filter needs replaced asap and continue changes monthly treated as recall for today
Arrived at home and theist was blank. Checked high voltage into the unit and low voltage out of the unit. All were good. Took thermostat off of all and there was 27 volts. Put thermostat back in the wall and the throat came on. Informed customer that I could replace the thermostat if he wanted, or that he could but his own and we could install it should the thermostat goes bad. Unit is heating fine.
Spoke with customer about reason why he wanted thermostats installed. He informed me that there was no problems, he just wanted wifi thermostats so he could control the systems while he's away. Installed the thermostats and tested to ensure they worked in heat and cool. While checking things out I noticed the drain line was very obviously clogged, and that the system had no primary float switch. Informed customer of importance of primary float switch and asked if he wanted me to clear the clog and add a float switch. He agreed and they were done. Unit is running fine.
Heat impeller is out of balance. Wobbles when at top speed. Pull and inspect wheel, reinstall and test. Ordered new assembly. Heating down, cooling available.
Upon arrival I went into attic via bedroom closet. I inspected all the duct work on that side of house. It was in pretty good shape. Then I noticed what was causing her problem. The main supply duct that goes to a distribution box was not attached. I reattached duct and now she does not have the airflow issue. She was cooling attic more than house.

Cleaned indoor and outdoor coils as well as drain line and treated drain pan with antimicrobial agent. Checked all electrical connections and amp draws as well as refrigerant circuit pressures and temperatures. There were no filters of the required size at the shop the morning of the tune up. Ordered a new one. Unit is running fine.
EM, blower motor fault. Couldn't remove motor due to rust. Ordered new wheel and motor. Also filter.
blower motor failed to operate, found bad capacitor, also blower was in very hot condition heaters were cycling on limit stats. Replaced capacitor and tested Blower current within value and heater at 40 amps Add 1000.00 to relocate to vertical garage
Thermostat fails to send "G" signal needs replaced ALSO belt needs replaced and bearings are shot
Prior company invoice barely legible, after fi di g the electronic float with red light on and system still operational and Attic unit flooded conclusion te safety is failed.. Prior statements on invoice and from customer parroting what they were told cannot be substantiated or confirmed. Refrigerant charge checked ok Half gallon water poured in drain went down without backing up Noted drain goes down into slab outside and was cut off by others, poured water into cut off and had no backing up Quoted and installed new float safeties System dates to 2018
Asked customer about issue he is having, he informed me that some mornings the unit will overheat the home by several degrees. Inspected the thermostat, and thermostat wiring. Checked for shorts in all low voltage wiring. No problems were found. Looked up thermostat manual to see if there were any over cool or overheat settings. There were none. There was an option to reset the thermostat if it was doing anything out of the ordinary. I reset the thermostat and told the customer that if that doesn't take care of it then he will need a new thermostat. I told him the prices of ours, and also told him that if he bought a single stage cool and dual stage heat heat pump thermostat he could install it himself if he wanted. Everything is working fine.
