Upon arrival the float was tripping and resetting itself when water drained. I noticed that the line set was laying on top of drain line and causing a big dip in drain. I secured Lindsey and removed dip and the water drained fast out of pipe and system started shortly afterwards. I went ahead and added some dawn and flushed with water but there was no build of anything coming out of drain. It is cooling and draining at this time.
No cool. Blower motor not Operating. While checking, motor begins to operate. System operating at this time but blower motor will probably stop working or work intermittently. Customer states she can't afford a new motor at this time. 15 yr old system. Recommend replacing system.
Upon arrival I showed the pastor that drain pan was dry and airhandler was dry. I also took pictures of roof sheeting with water stains. I also showed him where a bathroom vent was loose from roof. I explained how with the amount of raining wind may have caused it to leak from vent. I also showed him where it was dripping on duct and running into a loose piece of tape on duct and dripping out insulin duct. He wants duct replaced. I also helped him reconnect vent and tape. I taped duct and showed him the steady stream of water coming from drainline outside.
Checked over the system and found everything to be working fine. The customer was telling me that the indoor unit was running but the evaporstor coil wasn't getting cold which leads me to believe that the condenser wasn't coming on due to the contactor sticking as its very badly pitted. Replaced the contactor, extended the drain line, and flushed the drain line.
Upon arrival I checked system over and I found bad compressor I quoted but homeowner said nutone would give them a new unit. Wants us to install it.
Check system operation. No ID fan operation. Check cap and change speed. System operating but wheel wobbles and motor slows and speeds up intermittently. Recommend new motor and wheel. Parts quote req.
