Very thorough and knowledgeable.

I recently purchased a new home with features I was not familiar with. The technician went through them with me (i.e. Aprilaire system), so I can maintain them between calls.

Furnace clean and tune. Cycled system. Checked heat exchanger. Found some rust and corrosion in all chambers. No visible cracks found with camera. Cleared drain line. Found some obstructions. Checked and tightened electrical connections and clamps. Checked and cleaned flame sensor. Found heavy corrosion on flame sensor. Cleaned as best as I can. Igniter tested normal. Found evidence of bearings getting worn in Ventor motor. Preformed combustion test, normal levels found in exhaust. No CO found in airstream. When cycling system to heat, thermostat would not allow me to increase set temp. Customer stated that they have issues two times that furnace would shut down prematurely. This, along with the situation I found when dealing with thermostat, indicates that the thermostat is failing. I recommend replacement of thermostat. Average life expectancy for this unit is 14 years. This system is past that time period and future failure is expected. Recommend second opinion for options to avoid

System operating normal at this time, but future failure is expected. Removed old heat register and installed new. Fireplace clean and tune. Cycled fireplace. Ok. Cleaned glass. Cleaned walls, logs, ignition system, and under unit. Cleaned ignition system as best as I could. It is very hard to reach due to its placement to the manifold. System operating
