HVAC technician, cooling, air conditioner repair. 1 Pole, 30a, 24v. Upon arrival customer stated that their 1st floor HVAC system outside was,asking a lot of noise when running. Upon inspection I found that the contactor was burnt. Replaced contactor before going on in diagnosis. After I installed contactor, started unit up and pressures were 50-300psi. Checked furnace filter and it was dirty. Homeowner had a new filter, put it in and checked pressures again. Pressures are now 74-255psi. Ok now Misc Work Completed HVAC Once I got contactor and unit running properly, I did notice a rattling of the unit. Tightened up all the screws, put some rubber washers around the top and bottom of the cabinet body to control the rattling of the grate wire covering, which helped some. Unit has a scroll compressor and it’s starting to make noise when running which is common with these kinds of compressors as they get older. Condensing fan is also making a little noise but it’s still working properly.
