Arrived to check a unit we just installed that isn’t cooling. Was installed yesterday. Customers nest thermostat was stating a issue with the Y wire. After inspection and running a few tests, found thermostat wires all chewed up inside the condenser that are shorted together. Not enough slack to run new wire. Found existing wire but a new lineset. Wire wasn’t pulled when the new lineset was ran. Pulled new 8 wire from the furnace to the condenser. Secured wires so they aren’t touching the flue pipe anymore. Tested cooling, ac running now. Furnace blower doesn’t sound good. Customer asked about a Honeywell WiFi thermostat after we talked to the customer about issues we have had with the Nest thermostats. Ac running at departure. Put new locking caps on. Suction line locking cap wasn’t on all the way and was cross threaded.
