Upon inspection I found the disconnect was failed and must be replaced while I am on site. After replacing the disconnect I found a failed capacitor and a failed contactor on the condenser unit outside. Contactor has welded itself closed. This must be replaced. This will burn up the compressor. Although I am not gonna due that today. By replacing the disconnect, I can now simply shut the power off to the condenser unit. Also found the condenser coil is leaking. This is a 2005 R-22 system. This system must be replaced at this time. The indoor unit is in very bad shape as well. This is a 1996 GE furnace. I will not be performing a pull and clean on this furnace because it has to be replaced as well. I have installed a new T-4 programmable thermostat to replace the non programmable. I also found evidence off leaking at the evaporator coil. Videos on leaks are in CC.
