Response from Centex Air & Heat:
Thank you for the wonderful review and for taking the time to share your feedback.
Upon my arrival I performed a 6 month check up 4 mini split systems. I found the upstairs, wife’s bedroom and the barn craft room all to be operating properly in both the performance and safety aspects of the equipment. I found the downstairs carrier system was extremely low on refrigerant and has developed a leak on the heat transfer media coil. I spoke with the customer about his different options for repair and he chose to go with HL1D. We will need to schedule a return to perform the repair. I left this system turned off at the disconnect to prevent any further damage. I also secured the drain line coming from the upstairs unit upon the customers request.
Today I arrived in Coupland and met with the customer. He showed me around to the 4 systems 3 of which in the main home, and one in the barn upstairs. Downstairs main home systems are operating well with good pressures, upstairs system is running very well also. Barn system just recently had a repair completed, customer asked that I secure the line set cover as it moves in the wind, I was sure to remount the cover to correct concern. All systems are completely operational and upon departure left barn system off, main house systems left in cooling mode at 80.
Today I arrived in Coupland and I evaluated the barn Mitsubishi system and found the refrigerant leak to be located at the outdoor flare fitting on suction line. Upon my arrival in Coupland I performed the UV leak search and was unable to locate a leak, it was too windy to attempt the leak detector outside but did use it inside. I searched both indoor and outdoor with the UV light. I added more leak dye to the system and recharged with 1.5 pounds of refrigerant so they system can run and hoped present the leak with the leak dye. When I depressed the Schrader I did not get any signs of UV leak dye within the system before adding more to it. Will need to schedule a return in 1-2 weeks to perform the leak search again.
Upon my arrival in Coupland the water had all drained out so I tested the system and found that the drain line was backed up. I cleared the drain line and poured some drain pan treatment down it. Went ahead and checked the temperature split to make sure the system wasn’t low and freezing up. The temperature split was good. This ended being a warranty call since we were just out here for the cleanings on the 4th. Left the system running.
