I attended Karl’s airdrie home to perform a tuneup on his 25 yr old furnace. Aside from the flame sensor needing cleaning the furnace is in very good condition considering its age. Because of the age I do recommend the furnace be replaced. Karl is also interested in a tankless system. Both the furnace and the tankless he will revisit this spring but not at this time.

I attended Steve’s airdrie home to perform the plan service on his 2 furnaces. The furnaces are running very well aside from the ac coils are still plugged and the ducts, especially the main floor, are dirty. Office will be calling Steve to arrange for us to come back out to rectify this issue.

I attended Boris’s airdrie home as he didn’t have heat. Upon arrival I noticed a filter outside and that the thermostat was turned off. I turned the thermostat on and went down to the furnace. The furnace fired normally and ran. Boris let me know he had just changed the filter. The furnace ran for over 5 mins and did not shut down. I recommended a diagnostic but since the furnace seemed to be running fine, Boris declined the diagnostic. I let Boris know that the filter he was using was too dense. Recommend he use one that is 1000 rating or less. I let him know that if the furnace gives him any issues then the next time we will have to do a diagnostic.
Today I came to Garth and Debbie’s Thorburn home in Airdrie to perform a furnace tune up and inspection before winter. The furnace is original to the home and is 21 years old. Furnace tune up and inspection: Upon tune up and inspection of the 21 year old system I tested and adjusted the gas valve, burners, gas pressure and temperature rise. Pulled and cleaned the flame sensor. Tested ignition system, inducing motor and assembly, blower motor and assembly, heat exchanger, humidifier, static pressures, tested and tightened all electrical connections, all safety switches and control board. Furnace is in poor condition. The inducing / exhaust motor has bearing ware and is vastly over amperage indicating impending failure. The flame sensor, gas valve, and safety switches are all working well with manufacturers specifications. The control board inducing motor relay is starting to fail and clicks on and off multiple times on system start up. The blower motor has over heated at least once.

I attended Karen’s airdrie home as her ac was not working. Upon diagnostic I found that the condensor pressure switch had tripped, and that the condensor was very dirty. This would have facilitated the pressure switch tripping. Reset the switch, Karen had me clean the condensor coil. I did all that and tested the operation of the system. I also found the ducts are dirty and with the system being 13 yrs old recommended that the contractor, capacitor be replaced as well as installing a compressor saver. Karen decided to just have the diagnostic and condensor coil cleaning be done. Job complete, all working well at this time.
I attended Michelle’s rental in airdrie to perform an ac plan service. The ac is working very well with no issues. However, I did notice that there is no mold mitigation on the system. Recommend a uv light above the indoor coil to ensure no mold growth.
