Excellent and Professional Service

We had a major leak in the basement on a Sunday. About 1 inch of water. Called Clearview. Heinz was at our place in 1 hour. Leak fixed. The leak was from PolyB failure. We decided to replace all plumbing. Heinz and his team complete the job in less than a week... working alongside the restoration company. Extremely professional workmanship provided by a very qualified and thoughtful technician. If you need plumbing service. Call Clearview and request Heinz comes to handle the job. If you have PolyB ----- Call Heinz before there is a leak and a total mess. Get it replaced. It is a plain less process and will add dollars to the value of your home.

Service was on time and thorough

While the service was performed exactly as planned we were informed that our thermostat was not operating. We were told that the unit needed to be replaced before Gerry could continue the service. The cost was in excess of $600.00. Feeling like we had no choice, we authorized the work. The same thermostat is available at most retailers for less than $200.00. This has left us with a less than favorable impression.

Today I came to Ashley’s sundance home in Calgary to replace his air conditioning system. Upon arrival I disconnected the outdoor unit, placed the new unit. Reconnected all electrical, I was able to preserve and use the lineset from the previous system. A new evaporator coin was also installed. I pressure tested the system for 30 mins and it passed. Then I connected my vacuum to the system and pulled it down to 500 microns which is considered a good vacuum it held vacuum which means the system is leak free. I also installed a 25 amp breaker in the panel. Built a new drain line which I incorporated the humidifier into the line as well. I then commissioned the unit and monitored the pressures to ensure the outdoor unit was functioning within manufacturers specifications which upon my departure the unit was operating at a nominal capacity. Thank you for choosing Clearview Services.

I attended Robert’s Tuscany home to perform a plan service on his ac. The ac is running very well with no issues. However, I did notice that he has no mold mitigation and I recommend that a compressor saver be installed to help prolong the life of the compressor. We just cleaned his ducts last year so they are still in very good condition. Robert is going to talk to his wife about the options when she gets back in town and get back to us.

Today I came to Mikes Copperfield home because he is getting quotes to install a new ac system. The home is 1417 square feet and because it faces north south, and the offices are facing south, I have determined the home should use a 2.5 ton ac system to properly cool. There is lots of room on the electrical panel to accommodate the new system. The furnace and water heater are original to the home and 19 years old. The average life span of the furnace is 18 years and the tank is 8-12 years. The tank is also leaking on top. Today I came to mikes Copperfield home to install his furnace and air conditioner. Upon arrival after a site assessment it was determined that it was easier to split the job in so 2 days. The evaporator coil and furnace were completely installed day 1. I am returning tomorrow to finish the Air conditioning system installation. Furnace was installed with no issues.

Today I came to Anna Marie’s home because there is a loud noise coming from the basement bedroom. Upon inspection I found the noise is coming from the ventilation fan as its bearings are failing. Anna will just leave the fan turned off. I have given her a quote to replace it should she want to use it someday. Anna is happy with my service today.

Today I came to Neil’s Britannia home because the second floor ac system stopped working. Upon diagnostics of the 6 year old system I found it was not getting power. I checked the breaker and found they were on and producing power. I traced the problem back to the exterior electrical disconnect. The disconnect has failed and is no longer to code and should have been replaced when the ac unit were replaced. Scheduled to return Tuesday July 30 2024 to replace both external ac disconnects. 50% paid today with the remainder due at time of job completion. 25% restocking fee should the job be cancelled.

I attended Maria’s shawnessy how as her ac was not working properly. Upon diagnostic I found that the 22 yr old system is working ok considering the age. However, I found that the condensor motor is leaking oil, the contactor is pitted and the evaporator coil is partially plugged as well as the ducts are very dirty. Maria has a wedding coming up so they are going to hold off and decide if they want to replace the system

Client called about a potential leak in the basement tech went out there is a couple water marks on the basement ceiling. Tech quoted to perform a leak search client approved tech up out a section of the drywall in basement ceiling. Everything is very dry these stains look possibly very old. It looks like water seeped into the supply air duct by the front entrance way and ran down the pipe a bit. There is no drainage in the area and the water lines are all dry with no sign of leaking. Tech tested water pressure 60-65 psi and ran water from the fixtures and out door faucet still no leak. Tech informed client. Client thanked us for coming out.

July 26, 2024: Drake arrived to adjust the exhaust vent for the goodman furnace we had installed earlier this year. The exhaust was touching the room light bulb which caused a hole to be burned into the pipe. Cut out damaged pipe, installed 3 2” 45 elbows and 2” 636 pipe to reconnect and adjust the position of the vent.

Today I came to Monique and Keith’s Slopes home because they have an intermittent leak in the mechanical room. Keith has shown me me the top of the furnace and the floor surrounding that has clearly had water on it. Inside the furnace I found the inducing motor and condensate pan are leaking acidic condensate and rusting the furnace. Upon inspection of above the furnace I could see water in the ac systems evaporator door. Because the ac system causes condensation it is my belief that the problem is associated with the air conditioner. Upon diagnostic of the ac system I found it to be in poor condition. The system is very low on refrigerant which can cause freezing. When the internal coil thaws, leaks like what Keith has mentioned can happen. The txv (thermal expansion valve) is also creating high pressure which indicates internal txv problems. The inside evaporator coil is rusted and has mold that can cause serious health problems. Tentatively scheduled to return Monday July 29 2024

I attended hanyas home in Cranston as the top floor ac was not working. Upon diagnostic I found that the capacitor was faulty and both main and top floor condensers were very dirty. She had me replace the capacitor and clean both condensers. Checked operation of top floor ac, now working very well.

Today I spoke with Gene because he wants quotes to have his 2 furnaces and all the duct work cleaned as well as cleaning of the outdoor ac condensing coil and tune ups of the equipment. Upon inspection I can see there are 2 furnaces, 1 central air conditioning system on the second floor system, and an hrv (heat recovery ventilator). The duct cleaning process is quite intensive and take approximately 8 hours. Tune ups of all the equipment will take approximately 2-3 hours. Fortunately we currently have discounted tune up specials until august 15. Gene will review the quotes and let’s us know how he chooses to proceed.

Client called about concerns the ac system might be leaking condensation tech went out client has a dark spot in the concrete that does feel wet but is definitely stained. Tech followed the stain from the floor drain to the wall. After some discussion tech believes there maybe a foundation issues. Everything feels dry at the moment. Client is going to monitor it
