For this call we performed a double super tune-up. The unit downstairs was running within normal limits we did not see any thing that was worth noting as far as performance reliability safety and efficiency. The unit from upstairs had bio growth inside of the plenum and on the blower, was missing a drain safety or wet switch, had a condenser fan showing signs of overheating and over amping during run time, and a defrost control board that was showing signs of wear and tear. I spoke to homeowner about options for a refurbishment for the upstairs unit and they stated that they were planning on replacing the whole unit in the future probably when it fails. I offered to have a comfort advisor come and give him an idea of what a new unit would cost them, they politely decline and said they are not ready for it yet.
