Repair person was on time, friendly, capable, and thorough. He did a great job. The main problem I had was, how far out my scheduled appointment was from the date I called Comfort Matters. I know a lot of people had AC problems, but two weeks was a long wait.
AC precision tune up. Clean and tune up AC; cleaned condenser coil, checked all outdoor electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked refrigerant levels, and tested overall AC operation. Air Exchanger and tune up. Remove filters and core to vacuum. Also clean cabinet interior. Inspect bearings on blower assembly. Install core and filters. Clean off outside hoods. Test operation of air exchanger. Lastly performed a blower wheel cleaning to increase cooling and heating efficiency. Also to increase cleanliness inside the home. Lastly to maintain longer cleanliness of the furnace and other major components inside would encourage a electronic air cleaner. All other recommendations declined at this time.
Found set screw loose and worn down on furnace fan. Replaced set screw and tested. There is a good wobble in the blower fan and was recommended to replace the blower assembly and motor.
Garbage disposal was leaking when used. Replaced disposal and filled and dumped sink compartments checking for leaks and none found. Dishwasher was also ran through a quick cycle.
AC precision tune up. Clean and tune up AC; cleaned condenser coil, checked all outdoor electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked refrigerant levels, and tested overall AC operation. Recommended replacing motor booster; testing out of range, blower wheel cleaning, Drain pan treatment to prevent biological growth and help keep the drain line clear, Start assist kit to provide a boost in power when the ac starts up and help extend the life of the compressor, Surge protector to prevent power surge and damage the electrical components and locking caps to prevent theft, refrigerant leak and to meet MN code.
Upon further investigation, found the control board to be in working order. It was likely tripping on high limit previously due to being a Downflow furnace. Installed start assist kit and tested operation.
AC precision tune up. Clean and tune up AC; cleaned condenser coil, checked all outdoor electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked refrigerant levels, and tested overall AC operation. Furnace precision tune up; clean and tune up furnace; clean burners, test ignition components, adjust gas level, test safety circuit, check indoor motors, checked all electrical components, tested indoor air flow, checked heating temperatures, and tested overall furnace operation. While doing the heating tune up it was discovered that the control board was malfunctioning. Will order a new control board under warranty and follow up with customer. Installed a surge protector, drain pan treatment and ordered new filters.
Found that power saver box stopped working. Bypassed the box and unit started Again. Customer is informed to cal deck to have them come look at it
Found pressure switch to be failed. By passed all safety switches for customer to have cooling until switches can be replaced. Customer understand that all safety’s were removed and the liability is not in our hands.
Outdoor unit would not run on on arrival. Found contactor was not getting call for cool. Core sense diagnostics was flickering. Disconnected From system and issue persisted. Disconnected high low pressure cutoff for test purposes. Unit fired after that. Recommend replacement of pressure switches and diagnostics module. Informed customer to go through center point for repair due to cost of labor we would have to charge. Warranty give to to customer is through center point only. Collected diagnostics fee for visit today.
Ac was not operating upon arrival. After further diagnostics I found that the system had no high voltage at the ai conditioner. I hen found that the two high voltage fuses have blown. I replaced here fuses with brand new ones and he system started right away. I also found that the company that installed the furnace never connected the ac to the control board. This was causing the fan to run at a very low speed. I then ran new wiring to the furnace from the existing wires inside and wired everything up accordingly. As of now the system is up and running however due to the age I do highly recommend looking into replacement. Home advisor visit scheduled for 6-28-2022 at 5 pm with our home advisor Chris A.
