Customer called in for replacement of a 11 year old water heater. Along with a recirculation pump that was no longer working. Shut water off to existing tank. Drained tank. Removed existing water heater flex’s. Removed existing electrical. Removed existing earthquake straps. Removed existing pump. Installed new tank. Installed new thermal expansion tank. Installed new water heater flex’s . Installed new recirculation pump. Reinstalled existing earthquake straps . Filled tank. Checked for leaks. No leaks found at this time. Turned power on to unit. Insulated water heater flex’s. Took water sample from system. Customer has 4 grains of hardness, no iron present and PH sitting at approximately 7. Checked temperature and water heater was at 110F and rising. Note : explained to customer about warranty and left paperwork for tank next to water heater.
