Customer had informed us that his heat pump had still been tripping the breaker after the breaker was replaced. Tested the windings on both the outdoor fan motor and the compressor, we found that the resistance on the outdoor fan motors windings were correct, and the windings on the compressor were not what they should have been, which means the compressor is bad. We went ahead and contacted AMS tech support and they began the process for getting a new compressor under warranty. Today we went ahead and recovered all of the refrigerant in the system, once the compressor comes in we will come out and swap it out under warranty. Thank you for choosing CPI Plumbing and Heating Inc.
Arrived onsite customer informed me that he was out of town during Christmas and when he got back he had noticed that the house was cold and the heat pump breaker was in the tripped position. Looked at breaker panel noticed that if I barely tapped the breaker panel it went into the tripped position, and to turn the breaker off it was extremely hard to move. Opened up service disconnect and tested incoming power, no incoming power was present while breaker was in the on position. Checked fuses on the disconnect. Both fuses were reading measurable resistance. Recommend he call jewell electric at 360-202-6945 to come take a look at the breaker panel. No signs of shorts in the service disconnect or the heat-pump itself. Thank you for choosing CPI Plumbing and Heating Inc
